Hi! I am Ashley,
Once you step into my office you are no longer alone with your thoughts, feelings, and pain. I am here to try to make sense of situations and life experiences that seem hard for most to comprehend. In the mid 2000’s I became extremely passionate about treating individuals who have experienced significant trauma and have faced mental health related challenges. I have been fortunate to have aided thousands of clients in their decision to heal, by facing the fears that hinder them from living the life they have always wanted. It is a privilege to be part of one’s commitment to healing and honor to walk alongside my clients as they establish a sense of hope and self-confidence to achieve personal success.
I always knew I wanted to be a psychotherapist working with clients through all transitions of their lives. My work has taken me nationally and internationally, obtaining the opportunity to learn from and work with some of the world's experts in their fields. I further have worked with populations that few therapists will get the opportunity to work with.
I began my career working with individuals who have special needs and their families. I conducted research with professors at the University of Arizona and worked to integrate severely disabled individuals into the workforce. The experience was a true honor to be a part of and shaped the therapist I am today. During my undergraduate degree I was exposed to military personal suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). I became fascinated with the disorder and how the diagnosis does not only affect the individual but everyone around them. My fascination with PTSD, Acute Stress Disorder (ASD), Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) and Secondary Trauma lead me to the Middle East.
While in the Middle East I completed a master’s degrees in Crisis and Trauma studies, specializing in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder from Tel Aviv University.
I had the opportunity to work with survivors of terror and war, African refugee women and children and client’s seeking help with intergenerational trauma.
I returned to the United States and attended the University of Southern California (USC) for a further degree. Upon my return, I worked with individuals who have HIV/AIDS and survivors of human trafficking and forced labor. For the past several years I have worked in the world of addiction and recovery, as well as working with individuals suffering from various challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma related disorders, perinatal mood disorders, eating disorders, life transitions, LGBTQIA+ concerns, relationship issues and various other mental health related concerns. I have devoted my career to working with individuals seeking assistance in some aspect of their life. I know that the journey of healing can be overwhelming and feel isolating. Once you begin working with me, know that you are no longer alone with your thoughts, feelings, and pain. I am here to help you make sense of situations and life experiences that seem hard to comprehend. I look forward to walking alongside you in your journey of healing.
